| My husband and I, along with our 21 month old son, stayed in Bear Hug and we really enjoyed our visit. This was my second time in the Gatlinburg area and luckily we only live 2 1/2 hours away. Tennessee is such a beautiful place and there are so many things to do and see! There are a lot of tourist traps in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area and luckily we kind of already knew what to watch out for (I have a habit of googling everything before I spend money on it! lol) Also be careful of people trying to sell you time shares.
We spent our first night walking around Gatlinburg and enjoying many of the shops and food. My favorite stores to visit were All Sauced Up and another store that sold home/garden items (can't remember the name).
After walking around for several hours we went back to the cabin to wind down. Our son had fun splashing in the jacuzzi but I don't think he enjoyed the jets too much. We watched some TV for a bit and called it a night. The bed was SO comfortable! It was one of my favorite things about the cabin. The hot tub is also really nice to relax in after walking around all day :)
The second day we got up early and went to get portraits done at Old Tyme Photos by Treadway. We went to the one on the left side of TGI Fridays (near Bearskin Parking garage). The name of the woman who runs it is Kelly and she was SO nice and really made sure she got some great photos of us.
Then we headed over to the Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies and spent a good 4-5 hours there. The aquarium is definitely a MUST SEE for anyone visiting Gatlinburg. I took so many awesome photos there. My favorite thing to watch/photograph is the Jellyfish.
We spent the rest of the evening walking around the shops behind Calhoun's restaurant. Calhoun's is a yummy place to eat! There were really pretty sunflowers outside the Smoky Mountain Brewery behind Calhouns.
Another fun place to visit is the Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge. It is so neat to see all the Christmas decor!
We are already planning to go back this fall when the leaves are changing :) I would love to stay in Bear Hug again if we are able to. It was really fun to read through the guestbook too. Hopefully next time we can stay longer than a couple of days. I would like to visit Cades Cove next time as well as do some hiking to nearby waterfalls.
